 Crazy Horse Biography
Artist began as an early-'60s doo wop group, Danny & the Memories, before becoming the Rockets, who mixed rock, soul, and country influences and made one album in 1968. They were snapped up by Neil Young as his back-up band shortly after, and worked on and off with him for decades, creating together a signature crunchy, raw sound that influenced everything from punk to grunge. On their own, they released five albums in the '70s and '80s, the first featuring original frontman Danny Whitten, who o.d.'ed the following year.
