One of the great things about Jeff Beck is his utter unpredictability. It's also one of the most maddening things about him, too, since it's as likely to lead to flights of genius as it is to weird detours like Beck, Bogert & Appice. It's hard to tell what exactly attracted Beck to the rhythm section of Vanilla Fudge and Cactus -- perhaps he just wanted to rock really loud and really hard, beating Led Zeppelin at their own game. Whatever the motivation, the end result was the same -- a leaden album, with occasional interesting guitar work smothered by heavy riffs and rhythms that don't succeed on a visceral level. It's a loud, lumbering record that may be of interest for Beck archivists, provided they want to hear absolutely everything he did. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

One of the supergroups created in the 70's with Jeff Beck and the rhythym section of Vanilla Fudge. Good album, not the best of everything, but replacement of my lost vinyl. Still a good collectors item.

 brings back memories
this entire cd brings back so many memories. i am no music purist and cannot address issues concerning technical aspects of the performances but from the first time i heard beck, bogert and appice i knew i would always be a fan...only wish there were more. the sound and the sons touch me and isn't that what music is meant to do? and this cd does more....it takes me back to younger freer times. the cd brings me happiness and that is really all i care about with my music!!!!

SIMPLY GREAT ALBUM!!
This is a great album! It's the only studio recording by BBA - It's a "must" for every rock fan of the seventies

This is one of my all time favs of this trio. Beck is a master of his craft without a shadow of a doubt. Coming from the womb of The Yardbirds, Beck stands out from that era and Page & Clapton I'm sorry to say will have to stay in the shadows from him. Not saying that Clapton and Page are not greats in their own right, but they still have a long way to go to catch up to Beck. My only regret is why didn't Beck, Bogert, & Appice do more together. I wouldn't of minded a second helping of this dynamic rock trio. Buy this CD. I guarantee it will rock your socks off. I rest my case.

In March of 1971, the Guess Who recorded the follow-up to their rare 45 RPM "Hang On to Your Life" (rare because it was the remix with additional guitars not found on the version on The Best of the Guess Who).
