This 2007 production of Richard Wagner's epic opera Das Rheingold occurred at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, under the stage direction of Carlus Padrissa. It boasts some unusual elements, notably set design by the innovative La Fura dela Baus, which utilizes extreme lighting, unusual props and three-dimensional computer projections. The production stars Juha Uusitalo as Wotan, Ilya Bannik as Donner, Germán Villar as Froh and Franz-Josef Kapellmann as Alberich. The Orchestra of the Comunitat Valenciana, provides symphonic accompaniment under the direction of Zubin Mehta.
